December is the month of Christmas gifts, but also of financial reports. This is the case for ErosAntEros, theater company based in Ravenna that has been organizing POLIS Teatro Festival since 2018 and is currently experiencing difficulties in closing its year-end accounts.

An international contemporary theater festival, which in May 2025 dedicated its eighth edition to an Iberian Focus, centered on the Iberian Peninsula, bringing the protagonists of the European theater scene to the main cultural venues in Ravenna. The eighth edition of the festival was full of new features: it saw the birth of POLIS NEON, the section dedicated to the Italian under-35 scene, created with the support of MiC and SIAE, as part of the ‘Per Chi Crea’ program; it celebrated the 15th anniversary of ErosAntEros with an extraordinary event made possible by the support of the Special Projects of the Ministry of Culture’s Teatro 2025 program.

Many people, both members of the public and national and international operators and journalists, together with many young people, attended the performances and numerous educational activities and participatory projects. National premieres, significant moments of discussion, round tables between artists, scholars, and international operators reached a new important milestone with record attendance at paid and free events, resulting in a 50% increase in the number of spectators.

However, 2025 was also a year of record cuts: in its assignments for the new three-year period of the FNSV (Fondo Nazionale per lo Spettacolo dal Vivo, National Fund for Live Entertainment), the Ministry of Culture drastically reduced the scores for some organizations and, consequently, also the related contributions. POLIS Teatro Festival also suffered this fate, with a reduction of 8 points in its Artistic Quality score, which severely penalized the organization’s positive growth in recent years.

ErosAntEros, therefore, when closing its accounts at the end of the year, finds itself in difficulty, as do other theater companies on the contemporary Italian scene, and is appealing in particular to local businesses. One way to help is through the Art Bonus: an initiative of the Ministry of Culture that promotes patronage of cultural heritage with a tax credit equal to 65% of the amount donated.

Anyone can donate: organizations, businesses and individuals. Donations can be made by bank transfer or credit card, and donors can obtain a self-declaration by entering their donation details on the artbonus.gov.it portal, where you will find all the information you need about this simple tool for making charitable donations to support culture.
