“Festivals come in many forms: trendy or activist, or designed to bring a city to life. But there are other, smaller, and rarer ones that are, in a way, a direct extension of the artists who organize them—artists with strong convictions who gather friends and connections from all over the world around them. This is the case with Polis, the festival that since 2018 ErosAntEros—that is, Davide Sacco and Agata Tomsic—have been organizing in Ravenna with dedication and generosity, believing in it to the point that, in addition to conceiving the festival, they oversee the organization, look after the guest artists and guests in general with a level of attention and care rarely seen elsewhere, and often take the stage themselves. In short, at Polis there is an atmosphere of attachment and commitment that is contagious even to the audience, and it is a pleasure to witness.
