Two women interact with each other and with a series of videos projected behind them. They illustrate a caricature of our world: supermarkets full of cow meat where our beloved dogs cannot enter; working to pay doctors who tell us we have to work less, and yoga classes to help us with stress; in India, the birthplace of yoga, almost one hundred rapes are reported each day; in Italy, we campaign in favour of recycling and against violence on women. The portrait they paint of our world is comically absurd, and absurdly real. Little by little, a precise thought emerges: the relationship between human beings and nature, as well as the relationship between human beings themselves, is toxic, faulty. But we can cure it. The secret is being able to unlearn the idea of power, and rethink our hierarchies collectively.
Sei la fine del mondo (letteralmente) is a multidisciplinary show that combines text, body and video to narrate eco-feminist thinking, according to which there is a correlation between the degradation of nature and the subordination of women. Part performance art, part satire, this project aims to investigate the structures that human beings have created, and tries to imagine new ones. Can we create new ways to interact with the world around us? Are there cultures that have already done so? Can we learn, before we annihilate ourselves?

Annachiara Vispi is a director and theatre maker. Born and raised in Rome, she moved to Ireland at 18 to study Drama and Theatre at Trinity College Dublin, where she graduated in 2015 directing God of Carnage by Yasmina Reza. In 2022 she co-created and directed Pig Brain, which sold out for six performances at the Dublin Fringe Festival. Back in Rome, she created with Giulia Macrì Persona Metropolitana, of which she presents two work-in-progress shows between January (Teatro della Visitazione) and July 2023 (Teatro India, Dominio Pubblico). The project was then adapted into English for a week of performances at the Dublin Fringe 2023; this version got five stars in the Irish Times and three nominations at the Fringe Awards. The project was performed at the InScena! festival in New York in May 2024. Sei la fine del mondo (letteralmente) was presented at Carrozzerie n.o.t., Teatro Palladium, Inbox 2024, and Kilowatt 2024. She is interested in questioning traditions and breaking down everyday life to imagine a new normal. She experiments with how different art forms can expand beyond their traditional form and communicate with each other.
