Four weeks ’til Christmas. A sorting center at Papua Inc.’s, a worldwide famous online store. In the short breaks between the exhausting work shifts, the stories of the characters emerge:
there’s Granata, an old-school leftist and a huge football fan;
there’s Quintacasa, an amateur astrologer who keeps claiming the Stars owe her one;
there’s Tamara, a young artist who collects and exhibits objects with manufacturing defects;
there’s Stakhanov, who entered Papua out of fear of what was outside.
Plus, a robot intern, a Lancelot-like truck driver, a killer doctor, a shady unionist, Ringo Starr and even a dragon.
Plus, a robot intern, a Lancelot-like truck driver, a killer doctor, a shady unionist, Ringo Starr and even a dragon.
The characters’ stories will cross with the true ones of the Amazon world. Like that of Jeff Lockhart Jr., a very young warehouse worker who died of a heart attack due to exhaustion, or Telesfora Escamilla, who was run over and killed by a truck driver who was driving over the limit, forced to deliver more than a hundred packages a day.
A delivery in twenty-four hours paid for with the lives of those who die to complete it.
Black humor, laughter with a bitter aftertaste and glimpses into poetry: Amazon Crime is an intimate and universal journey into our relationship with time and with the meaning we give it, often subjugated to the capitalist need to produce endlessly.
Leaving us with one last message: to save Christmas, we must first save ourselves.

Peso Piuma (Italian for “featherweight”): which means light, fast and never afraid to hit hard! The self-called “average 20-to-30-years-old company” conjugates a quirky dark sense of humor with deep contemporary themes, social satire and just a drizzle of poetry. Born in 2022 and resisting since the first day in the frightening climate of southern European theatre, the Milan-based company travelled all the way through Italy with Amazon Crime, after the play was noted at the prestigious Hystrio Award and performed at the InScena! Italian Theater Festival in New York. Today, many hours on the road later, the company is still looking forward for the next adventure…
